About Us 

The Boathouse was launched in October 2014 as an exciting new multi-purpose venue overlooking the River Roding, at the heart of the vibrant Icehouse Creative Quarter on Abbey Road, Barking.

The venue is a lovingly restored 19th century industrial building, making it into an appealing space for people to enjoy. It's an ideal space for  those who love the idea of transforming its blank canvas into something unique and special. 

 

Since its launch, The Boathouse has welcomed many pop-up opportunities, performances, exhibitions, jazz and comedy events, corporate, plus  yoga and fitness classes, and a range of arts workshops open to budding and established artists. Over the past few years, the number of creative businesses and artists basing themselves here has increased steadily and with there being significant regeneration in the area, which now boasts many new homes and residents, The Boathouse Studios makes the perfect home for a community hub.
